First week

Things have got really complicated so suddenly... Many of us have the feeling that we are living inside a 'Black Mirror' episode. If someone had told us that just in a few weeks we wouldn't be allowed to leave our homes, we clearly wouldn't have believed it.
I am an English teacher, currently working at the Ramón y Cajal High School, in Valladolid. As part of a project, I've proposed my vocational training students (FP Básica 1 y 2) to create this blog with the aim of expressing our feelings about the situation we all are going through. This intends to be a space of freedom, precisely when it has been limited to all of us. This intends to be a space of hope, where we can connect with our peers and give some moral support to each other. This intends to be a space of endurance, realising that all this will come to an end and trying to learn as much as possible from what has happened.

"I can’t express how I feel about the Coronavirus, it is new to me. But all this hurts because of my mother, who has to go to work every day. She works with other people. These days I haven’t done anything yet, I am assimilating the situation, it is strange for me. I’m going to clean my bedroom, do homework, etc".

"Well, I think that it's a very serious situation, but some people are taking it as a joke or really don't care about it at all. On  the other hand, there are a lot of people taking it seriously and trying to help: for example, one of my friends that is studying nursing is buying food and taking care of her oldest neighbours, who needs it. And my mom is working now at the hospital, because they are having a hard time and need more people to help. I stay at home taking care of my three little siblings as always, and I really don't know what to do to entertain myself these days, so I just use my phone and listen to music".

"I really think it is okay for them to take measures, but it seems to me that they have gotten late, and therefore they are more extreme and cause panic in people. Regarding the quarantine, it will be difficult and very boring. For now I play online with my friends for hours while we talk on the phone, but today I will start exercising and education and bathing my dog".
